Sulphur Mask For Acne – Blackheads And Oily Skin
I must admit when I think of popping on a face mask, I think of running a nice warm bubble bath, pouring myself a chilled glass of wine, putting on some soothing music, toxic gas.. What! no!
I can’t say sulphur would be very high up on my list to add to my pamper regime but actually if you suffer from blackheads, acne or oily skin it’s a fab addition to your skin care regime.
Sulphur masks for acne can really help soak up excess oil, detoxify the skin and minimise pores making them an excellent choice for fighting blackheads.
However when shopping for products containing sulfur you do need to be cautious and here’s why.
Is sulphur good for the skin?
Sulphur has great anti bacterial properties meaning if you have acne it will help fight the bacteria in your skin that are causing your spots and blackheads.
It will also help prevent new ones appearing too.
Sulphur also powers through oil like nobodies business and reduces sebum production but just be careful this can lead to dry, irritated skin if you use it too often or at a too high concentration.
Also if you have very sensitive skin be careful which sulphur products you choose, a sulphur mask is usually a really good choice as they also contain hydrating ingredients to help protect the skin from drying out and calming ingredients to sooth but there are many that don’t and are likely to cause irritation.
But don’t worry if your looking for the best sulphur masks for acne, blackheads or oily skin I’ve sieved through them all to weed out the bad and found all the ones that are worth getting and listed them all right here!

Final Thoughts
Sulphur is actually a great addition to your skincare regime if your suffer from acne, blackheads or oily skin but I would always advise to go for it in a soothing mask with additional hydrating and calming ingredients as I’ve provided above.
On its own or with other acne products such as salicylic acids or benzoyl peroxides they may be to harsh and irritate the skin.

I’m so intrigued with Peter Thomas cooling mask but I’m concerned about it being a medicated product. Could you please clarify what this means and how should I take it into consideration when looking for a sulfur mask? I have tried sulfur masks in the past but the one I tried isn’t currently available to order so this one might be a good alternative.
Hi. Stephanie, thats a really good question. It’s actually the eucalyptus that has a natural medicated effect on the skin, it is a lovely product.
Hope this helps, thank you for your comment.
Hearing the word “sulfur” conjures memories of science class, but as I read your post it turns out that this sulfur is a staple in natural medicine. If you have a history of acne breakouts, chances are that you might also have a few acne scars. These can range in color and size, but acne scars have one thing in common: They’re difficult to get rid of. Any idea how many months it will take before you begin to see results using the sulfur masks ?
Hi Satz, acne scars are so difficult to treat, you would be better off targeting the scars with a Microneedling treatment. You can get amazing results from Microneedling after 3 to 5 professional treatments but you can do at home treatments too just be sure to get a safe device as there are a lot of cheap knock off’s you will want too avoid.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing this information. I never would have put face masks and sulfur in the same sentence, but they sound like a wonder product. There are certainly some facts in this article that are fascinating. Thanks for sharing the products too, I was expecting sulfur treatments to be something you’d need to get done in a beauty salon.
Looking forward to your next post.
Best wishes,
Sharon
