Niacinamide Skincare Products- Why You Should Be Using Them
When it comes to hero ingredients in your skincare, Niacinamide is definitely one of them and you don’t need to worry about when or how to use it either.
It has virtually no side effects, suits any skin type and will address a multitude of skin concerns from hydration to sebum production.
Apart from SPF it’s the only product I recommend nearly everyone should be using so if you want to know which Nacinamide skincare products you should be using stick around and I’ll tell you some of the best ones you can get your hands on.
Niacinamide is probably one of the skin care ingredients you’re not so familiar with, it’s perhaps not thrown about quite as much as retinol or peptides and vitamin C but it’s certainly is up there with one of the best ingredients you should be looking for when investing in your next moisturizer or serum.
No matter what your skin type you are more or less pretty much guaranteed to get some benefit from adding this amazing ingredient into your skincare routine.
Niacin can be found in many foods such as grains, meats, fish and beans and then our bodies convert it into Niacinamide or vitamin B3 which is essential for our bodies to function properly.
It ensures healthy digestion, circulation and brain function but aside from that it is an impressive multi taker where it comes to our skin care.
Ageing
Niacinamide at a concentration of 5% is a seriously good anti ageing ingredient so make sure you have it in your skincare regime.
It is essential for collagen production which we need to keep our skin youthful and plump, it’s also a good ingredient for micro circulation and antioxidant protection.
Acne skin
Niacinamide has been shown to regulate oil production making it a fantastic product for acne sufferers or anyone with a particularly oily complexion.
Rosacea and sensitive skin types
For many people who suffer with rosacea it is common to see their hydro lipid barrier is compromised which is a protective layer which keeps moisture in and bacteria and environmental damage out.
When this barrier is compromised the skin becomes dehydrated and very sensitive.
(this is known as trans epidermal water loss)
Niacinamide is amazing at restoring this barrier and helping enhance ceramide production, these are tiny lipids which moisturise the skin from within.
Niacinamide also relieves redness and blotchiness which is an associated symptom of rosacea therefore an excellent product to choose if you are a sufferer.
Hyper pigmentation
Niacinamide down regulates the production of melanin which is another word for pigment it also has a brightening effect on our skin.
Anti inflammatory
This has to be one of it’s best features, so it is also a very soothing and calming ingredient which again makes it so wonderful for anyone suffering with acne, rosacea, redness, eczema or sensitivity.
For best results, use leave-on niacinamide products and apply them to cleansed skin twice daily.
That might mean you apply a toner with niacinamide immediately after cleansing to re hydrate and replenish skin.
A 10% Niacinamide Booster can be used on it’s own (much like a serum) or mixed into your favorite moisturizer, based on personal preference.
Those with stubborn concerns around advanced signs of sun damage, orange peel texture, lax pores, and oil-related bumps should consider trying an advanced strength 20% niacinamide serum for use once or twice daily.
Experiment to see what works best for your skin!
You can use niacinamide-containing products around your eyes, too.
Some might find applying a moisturizer or eye cream with niacinamide helps improve the look of under eye circles, helps soften the appearance of crow’s feet, not to mention enables this delicate area to retain skin-smoothing moisture and resist loss of firmness.
There’s no reason to wait to add niacinamide to your skin care routine.
This wonderfully versatile B vitamin brings many topical benefits to improve skin’s appearance, so it appears more even, brighter, and younger.
As with any great skin care ingredient, it’s important to be diligent about protecting skin daily with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.
This allows you to get maximum benefit from niacinamide and other proven skin savers.

I’ve heard of niacin before but not in relation to skincare so I have found this information very helpful. It’s good to know that niacin is important for collagen production and so many articles I’ve read have stressed the importance if collagen for your skin!
I also love that it assist with skin pigmentation. I still gave some blotches on my skin from pregnancy that I thought would have cleared up especially since my youngest is already 6 years old.
Hi lynne, it sounds like you may have a type of pigmentation called Malasma, which is commonly developed during pregnancy, take a look at my post on lightening pigmentation for more advice on lightening and treating ithttps://beautifulskinguru.com/how-to-lighten-age-spots-reveal-brighter-skin/ let me know how you get on or if you nee anything else just ask.

Hey,
This is a very informative and organised review of the Niacin-amide skincare products. My girlfriend and I like to keep our skin in a good condition, especially the anti-ageing products. I have forwarded this on to my girlfriend to get her opinion and let me know if we should purchase any of these products (she knows a lot more then me on this topic).
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
All the best,
Tom
