Homemade Chemical Peel Recipes – All Natural Ingredients
Chemical peels are great for addressing a multitude of skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, pigmentation and age spots, acne and acne scaring, large pores and blackheads.
They resurface the skin, thicken the dermis, increase cellular turnover and stimulate collagen production.
But if the thought of going to a professional to have acid put on your face scares the hell out of you why not make your own chemical peel out of all natural ingredients you could already have lying around in your fridge, cupboards or garden!
I’m going to give you a couple of my favourite homemade chemical peel recipes you can try yourself from the comfort of your own home.
They are so quick and easy!
A great way to introduce yourself to chemical peels if you find them a little daunting but have always wanted to try one
Or maybe you’re on a budget, making your own skincare is a fab way of saving the pennies.
What is actually in a chemical peel?
Most chemical peels contain acids that all derive from natural sourses, these are mainly AHA’s (Alpha Hydoxy Acids) usually glycolic acid which derives from sugar cane.
BHA’s (Beta Hydroxy Acids) like salicylic acid, this comes from Asprin and lactic acids which come from milk.
Citric and malic acid come from fruit. All the above are known to be effective in stimulating skin repair, increasing collagen production, increasing skin thickness, improving skin elasticity, diminishing acne, improving skin texture, improving skin tone and decreasing enlarged pores.
Natural Skin Peels
In actual fact The Queen Cleopatra herself was famously known for bathing in sour milk to improve the look and texture of her skin and we now know that milk contains lactic acid and naturally occurring AHA’s explaining her beautiful complexion.
Having this information means for Authors like Sue Dolan M.Ed, researcher and instructor on anti aging skincare and facial rejuvenation for the Skin Care Resource Centre and expert author on ageing skin concerns, she can create natural skin care recipes like the ones I’m going to share with you today.
So grab yourself a mixing bowl and a whisk, go run yourself a bublebath, pour a yourself a chilled glass of rose` and prepare for glowing, radiant skin.

Wow! I was not aware of the homemade chemical free masks before. Until today, I used to think the chemical masks are done only by a professional. I think I need one to get rid of acne.
Many Thank for this amazing information.
Best wishes
They are great and so simple, let me know how you get on! Thanks for your comment Habib.
What a great idea! I’ll try to make my own chemical peel!
Let me knowhow you get on Monique!
I love how simple the ingredients are for these homemade peels. Would love to try the natural homemade peel. Sounds easy enough. What should I expect the effects to be? Skin softening, tone correction etc. Do you have any peels you can recommend for skin that is prone to allergies?
Hi Chris, it would depend on the peel as to what you achieve but most peels stimulate collagen production and increase cellular turnover resulting in more even skin tone, fewer lines and wrinkles and more radiant glowing skin.
There will definitely be a recipe for a peel for allergies or sensitive skin in the Skinsations book, there really is something for everyone. Thankyou for commenting.
Hi Amy, I’m quite glad you posted the recipe for natural peeling-thanks. I do not hate going to a professional, I’m not scared, but I appreciate the time I can save by doing it myself. A very simple, yet, probably great for skin recipe you shared with us. Let alone it might be tasted, as well…
It’s definitely worth trying isn’t it Minaher, especially as you say if you like the results you can save yourself money on profession treatments.
Thank you for your comment.
