Are you a worried parent of a teen that has recently developed acne, if so you’re not alone!
With acne affecting 80% of adolescents, it’s a common problem they are likely to face at some point between the age of 10 and 20.
Caused by unbalanced androgen, the male hormones in both boys and girls, the natural oils in the skin go crazy making acne an inevitable skin condition.
But by finding the right skincare it’s possible to get these oils under control and your teens skin back in check.
Being a teen is a difficult time anyway, but being a teen with acne can be the difference between a happy out going individual to one which feels insecure and socially introvert.
So it’s important to be able to know what are the best ways to fight acne and keep it under control so your teen can concentrate on being on teen and not worry about their skin taking over their lives.
In this article were going to be looking for the best face wash for teen acne, along with some of the best systems that will make sure the skin is cleansed and well hydrated which can both address existing pimples and prevent new ones from forming without irritating their delicate young skin which is often a common problem with many acne products.
So Let’s take a look at my Top 5 products for teen acne.
Replenix Acne Solutions Acne Clearing System
I’ve included this in my choice of top products because this really is the ultimate acne fighting package!
Here’s what’s included;
The gentle but powerful foaming facial wash
This contains not one but 2 of the best acne fighting ingredients, 2% salicylic acid. Related to aspirin, salisylic acid is fantastic for reducing inflammation.
It is also oil soluble so can penetrate deep down into pores where it’s needed the most.
And 2% glycolic acid removes impurities and acne causing bacteria whilst copper and Zinc replace moisture to keep the skin balanced.
Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid exfoliating pads.
Exfoliation is such an important stage of acne skin care as acne is caused by the pores becoming clogged with a build up of excess oil, dead skin cells and bacteria.
It’s important to remove dead skin daily to prevent this build up within the pores.
5% Benzoyl Peroxide repair and protecting spot treating Acne gel.
This penetrates deeply into the skin, to replenish and restore, repair and correcting existing blemishes and breakouts. It improves the skins’ clarity and overall appearance.
Retinol Serum
Retinol is amazing for acne prone skin as it increases cellular turnover improving the appearance of large pores and controlling oil.
It also contains hyaluronic acid and green tea for increasing hydration within the skin without making the skin oily.
Caffeine and antioxidants protects the skin and reduces redness.
Retinol should only be applied at nighttime.
This is the perfect package to make sure you have everything that is going to work together for perfect acne control.
SkinMedica Purifying Foaming Face Wash
This one contains that amazing hero ingredient salisylic acid to power through oil along with witch hazel to combat acne bacteria .
Alanatoin is one of my favourite ingredients for its calming and soothing properties. A fantastic addition to this acne cleansing wash!
B.Kamins Hydrating Acne Wash
This one has the power of 3 salicylic acid, glycolic and lactic acid.
This powerful combo fight and exfoliate acne prone skin without drying it out like some acne products can.
The fab addition of bio maple stop the skin from drying out whilst still fighting blemishes and blackheads.
This one is perfect for normal to oily skin.
Acnezine Solution Kit
I had to include The Acnezine solution kit.
It treats the acne from the inside out as well as the visible symptoms.
It does this by providing a supplement containing all natural ingredients to address the acne causing bacteria and prevent future breakouts and a topical cream to apply for calming down redness, spots, blackheads and blemish control.
They even offer a 90 day money back guarantee!
Dr ORGANIC Skin Clear 5 IN 1 Spot Treatment
The Best Organic Teen Acne Treatment
This organic product uses the benefits of natural tea tree and willow bark to calm and soothe acne skin.
Whilst anti inflammatory and oil absorbing salicylic acid exfoliate dead skin cells and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.
This one uses a 3 stage approach with a purifying deep cleansing wash to remove the excess oil and deep clean pores.
A spot targeting moisturisers, targets spots and blemishes for clearer skin.
The third stage is a 5 in 1 treatment gel which not only encourages cell renewal but clears and calms spots and redness too.
Final Thoughts
I hope you find my suggestions helpful, as-well as a good skincare regime I always say with acne it’s important to keep a clean diet, low in sugar and sometimes even diary can help too.

If you find your teens acne isn’t improving with over the counter skincare it’s always worth seeing your GP for advice, for severe acne there are stronger topical creams, antibiotics and other acne specific medications which can be prescribed to help.
Please as always leave me your comments below if you would like to ask me anything or share your experiences.
This is a great list and extremely useful for me! I want to try them all! Which one do you think is best for adult blackheads?
Hi Brianna, exfoliation is key when it comes to blackheads, I would definitely go for an AHA exfoliator so look for one that contains lactic or glycolic acid. Also charcoal masks are amazing for blackheads, have a look on this post for some good recommendations https://beautifulskinguru.com/the-best-peel-off-mask-for-blackheads-top-charcoal-masks/
Hi Amy,
This is a wonderful article and an excellent review of some of the products that excel at treating acne. There are so many products available in the store and on-line that it’s very difficult to know what to buy these days. It’s nice to have someone like you that can narrow things down and point people in the right direction!
Frank
Thank you Frank, it can be very overwhelming knowing which products to buy when there are so many claiming to do the same thing.
I appreciate you comment.
